Audubon Park & The Riverview — 6500 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70118

“Seated in historic uptown New Orleans Audubon Park is a favorite spot for recreation, picnics or enjoying a beautiful day.” This dog-friendly park offers a 1.8-mile walking path, picnic tables, pavilions, playgrounds, and a lagoon. And for the sports lovers, there’s also tennis courts, soccer fields, a swimming pool, a golf club, and riding stables.

There are restrooms and water fountains, but you’ll need to bring your own waste bags. And dogs must remain on-leash, but they are welcome to walk on the trails with you or venture over to the Riverview area of Audubon Park.

Bonnabel Boat Launch Dog Park — 1599 Bonnabel Blvd, Metairie, LA 70005

Bonnabel Boat Launch is a beautiful, large park for the whole family. It’s right on the water with a long dock you can walk down. There is a small fenced-in dog park where pups can run and roam off-leash. It is well-maintained, and it does offer canine agility equipment. But make sure to bring your own water and waste bags.

Carver Playground — 7410 Prytania St, New Orleans, LA 70118

Carver Playground is an on-leash park, but it is dog-friendly. You can bring your kids to play in the playground area that is fenced-in while you and your pup watch. Just make sure your dog remains on a leash, and you pick up any of their waste. You’ll want to bring your own water and waste bags. Or you can walk around the all-purpose sports fields with your pup. Just make sure not to disrupt any games going on. Maybe you’ll both have fun watching the winning team!

Crescent Park — 2300 N Peters St, New Orleans, LA 70117

Crescent Park is located in the French Market District, and it connects the community and visitors from the city to the riverfront. This park is 20 acres in size, and 1.4 miles long. You walk your dog on-leash along the walking and bike paths to see the gorgeous views of New Orleans and the natural landscape. Or you can take your pup to play and run off-leash inside of their fenced-in dog run. You’ll find multiple picnic pavilions. This is a place that the whole family can enjoy!

Danneel Park + Playground — Octavia St & Danneel St, New Orleans, LA 70115

Danneel Park is a dog-friendly New Orleans park where children can play on the playground while pups get a good walk in. Dogs have to remain on-leash, and of course, always pick up any dog waste. There is an all-purpose field you can walk around with your pup and plenty of shade trees. But make sure to bring your own water and waste bags.

Gretna Bark Park — 1101 Washington St, Gretna, LA 70053

The Gretna Bark Park is a large, grassy, fenced-in dog park where pups can run free off-leash. There are shade trees and canine agility equipment, as well as water stations and waste stations. You can even connect with other pet parents through the Gretna Dog Park Facebook page. They do require that dogs must be spayed or neutered, and up to date on their vaccinations.

Lafreniere Dog Park — 3000 Downs Blvd, Metairie, LA 70003

Lafreniere Park is located in Jefferson Parish and is 155 acres in size. This park offers a 2-mile jogging trail, eight picnic pavilions, two playgrounds, a carousel, sports fields, disc golf, and a 20-acre lagoon. In addition to walking your canine around the park or on the jogging trails on-leash, you can let them off-leash inside of the Lafreniere Dog Park!

It is entirely fenced-in, and there are actually separate sections for small and large dogs. There’s no fee to use this dog park, and there are restrooms for the humans as well. Lafreniere Dog Park has plenty of grass, shade trees, and benches, as well as canine agility equipment, waste stations, water stations, and even a dog washing station.

NOLA Bark Market — 3041 N Rampart St, New Orleans, LA 70117

The “Barkey Park” at NOLA Bark Market is a bit unique. The Bark Market has a pet supply store, dog training facility, doggie daycare, and even special dog events. In addition to all of that, the Bark Market offers a privately-owned dog park. This park is open to the public but not for the purpose of socialization. This dog park is available for those who want to exercise their dogs with walks or by throwing a ball. And for those who want to work on training their dog. You will typically have the park to yourself, which is helpful for dogs who don’t socialize well with others.

NOLA City Bark Dog Park — 1 Palm Dr, New Orleans, LA 70124

The City Park is over 1,300 acres with so many things to see and do for the whole family. Check out the beautiful nature, let your kids play on the playground, go for a train ride, or hit up the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. There are multiple lakes, bayous, creeks, hiking and biking trails, and numerous sports fields. You can go fishing or birding, and best of all, there’s a bark park!

The NOLA City Bark dog park is 4.6 acres of fenced-in space where dogs can be off-leash to run and play at their heart’s content. The ground is a combination of pavement and grass. And there are restrooms on-site, as well as water fountains for dogs and humans, picnic pavilions, shade trees, benches, and waste stations. NOLA City Bark has two separate fenced-in areas for small and large dogs. And in addition to the many places you can walk your dog throughout the larger park, there’s also a ¼-mile walking trail within the fenced-in dog park.

Be aware, the dog park requires proof of vaccinations and a park permit, and they are closed every Tuesday before 1 pm for weekly maintenance. But the slight inconvenience is completely worth it for a beautiful, clean dog park!

Parc des Familles Dog Park — 6101 Lafitte Pkwy, Marrero, LA 70072

The Parc de Familles has plenty for the whole family! They have a splash park, a boardwalk that overlooks nature and wildlife, and a disc golf area. You can walk your pup along the boardwalk trail or let them play and run free in the fenced-in off-leash area inside of the designated dog park.
