We are seeking experienced Independent Pet Sitters to help care for our in-town Atlanta clients. Proximity to Buckhead important.
You will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the animals.
You choose your schedule and the services you offer. More jobs will be provided as our client base continues to grow. We offer dog walking, day drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and critters, as well as over-night sits in the clients' homes.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for animals and a strong commitment to providing quality care and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for walking dogs, providing basic care such as feeding and grooming, and ensuring that the pet’s safety is always the top priority. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves animals and wants to make a difference in their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Visiting pets in their homes. Puppy play, kitten cuddles, 30 minute dog walks.
- Refreshing food and water for all pets, and potty breaks or litter cleanings.
- Clean-ups and administering medicine, if needed.
- Check with clients via our app. Provide pictures and notes about the pet and visit.
- Engage in play activities and exercise with the animals
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment.
- Opportunity for overnight stays in pet's home.
- During vacation visits, mail collection, plant watering, and garbage can placement/retrieval may be requested.
Qualifications:
- Must love cats, dogs, and critters.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to work in all weather and temperatures .
- Must be honest, responsible, detail-oriented and able to follow directions in caring for client's beloved pets.
- Be able to handle multiple pets at once.
- Be able to read pet body language and respond appropriately. Administering first aid if needed.
- Be able to recognize signs of distress and aggression.
- Be knowledgeable about the local area and be able to plan routes for walks.
- Must have great written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule and open to working weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to make a commitment to work at least 6 months for the company.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be 18 or older.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years previous experience in pet care (with references)
- Smart phone, willing to download app for client/company communications.
- Valid driver's license
- Insured, reliable vehicle
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
